Opti Race Team

3-Week Intermediate Intro to Racing - Prerequisite CANSail 2
The Opti Race Team is the perfect program for sailors who have already completed their CANSail 2 level, but want to continue sailing in Optimist dinghies. During a 2 or 3-week session participants will continue to develop their sailing skills sailing solo in the single-handed Optimist. In addition to building on sailing skills, our certified Opti Race Coach will introduce sailors to the rules of sailboat racing and how they apply on the water. Each session will culminate in competition at a regatta, where sailors will get to test their skills on the race course against novice sailors from other local Clubs.

Our program runs Monday to Friday, however participants may also attend weekend regattas. Parent participation for regatta planning and travel is crucial to the success of the program and building a winning team. Participants must have completed CANSail level 2 or be able to demonstrate CANSail 2 level skills in order to register for this program.
