CANSail 3 or CANSail 4

4-Week Intermediate Level - Prerequisite CANSail 2 or 3
Our month-long CANSail 3 & 4 program focuses on applied skill acquisition. Participants sail in double-handed C420 dinghies and continue to master and build on skills introduced in previous levels. Our certified instructor will teach new and exciting elements of sailing, including racing fundamentals, trapeze and flying spinnaker.

Participation in this program also includes participation in a local regatta each session - regatta schedule is tentative, please inquire for details. Please note that regattas are typically off-site and parent participation is required for car-pooling, chaperoning and other volunteer roles.

In order to enroll for this program sailors must have completed CANSail level 2 or be able to demonstrate CANSail 2 level skills.

If your child has their CANSail 2 and is too small to move into 420s (recommended weight to sail C420 is 120-160 lbs) or prefers sailing solo in an Optimist dinghy, the Opti Race Team might be the right fit! Find out more about the Opti Race Team.

Lunch Program:
Why pack a lunch when we can make one for you? Sign up for our optional lunch program and NYC’s dining room will put together a delicious meal for your child, including a nutritious lunch and healthy snack.

Due to the nature of this service, we may not be able to accommodate food allergies or special dietary restrictions. We do not recommend the lunch program for children who are picky eaters, and we strongly recommend sending additional snacks and a refillable water bottle with your child as they are active throughout the day.
