What is NOTSA?
“NOTSA” stands for the “National Yacht Club Old Timers’ Sailing Association”. Founded in 1954, it’s an informal group of current or past NYC members. NOTSA members are: past or present Senior or Crew members of the NYC, 55 years of age or older, having been in good standing for 10 years or more, and having been sailors for 10 years or more.
NOTSA has tended to be a well-kept secret around NYC; many potential NOTSA members don’t even know NOTSA exists, or that they meet NOTSA’s “stringent” membership requirements.
If you find NOTSA appeals to you and you are interested in joining, contact NOTSA Secretary Ron Jenkins at
[email protected]. If you decide to join, the annual dues are $25, and they entitle you to race in the NOTSA Annual Regatta.
NOTSA meets for three main events in the year:
- AGM & Luncheon – June 11 2023
- Regatta & Luncheon – 2023 TBA
- Sailors (Ladies) Night Dinner – 2023 TBA
Additionally, some NOTSA members get together for casual Friday lunches and just to shoot the breeze.
